President Murmu Undergoes Successful Right-Eye Cataract Surgery, Discharged From Hospital
President Murmu's Right-Eye Cataract Surgery: The operation was carried out by Brigadier SK Mishra and his team. The President was discharged from the hospital and advised to rest.
President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday underwent cataract surgery in her right eye at the Army Hospital (Referral and Research) in New Delhi, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement.
According to the statement, the procedure went well and she was discharged from the hospital.
"The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu underwent cataract surgery of her right eye today morning (November 20, 2022) at the Army Hospital (Referral & Research), New Delhi. Surgery was successful and she has been discharged from the Hospital," the official statement read.
Brigadier SK Mishra and his team carried out the operation. The President has been discharged from the hospital and advised to rest, news agency ANI reported.

President Murmu, 64, had cataract surgery in her left eye on October 16 at the Army Hospital. The left-eye surgery was also successfully carried out by Brigadier Mishra and his team.
On July 25, President Murmu was sworn in as India's 15th President.
Brigadier Mishra and his team successfully performed cataract surgeries on former President Ram Nath Kovind and First Lady Savita Kovind during the Covid pandemic last year. Later, Kovind delivered a certificate of appreciation to Brigadier and his team.
According to a Times of India report, Mishra, who is originally from the Mau district but now lives in Lucknow, is the most decorated doctor in the history of the Indian armed forces medical services.
He is currently the chief of the eye department of the Army Hospital (R&R) Delhi. Mishra completed his super specialisation in Vitreo Retinal surgery at AIIMS New Delhi after graduating from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune.
