President Kovind Reviews IMA Passing Out Parade In Dehradun, Says Brave Men Like CDS Bipin Rawat Trained Here

New Delhi: The Indian Military Academy (IMA) passing out procession was inspected by President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday at Chetwode Building Drill Square in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

The ceremony was also attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Governor Gurmit Singh.

Our Flag Shall Always Fly High

Remembering CDS General Rawat, President Kovind said, "Our flag shall always fly high because brave men like late CDS General Bipin Rawat, who was trained here at the IMA, will always preserve & protect its honour."

President Kovind congratulated the Gentleman Cadets on completing their training at IMA and praised the instructors and Gentleman Cadets for the excellent parade, impeccable turnout, and crisp, coordinated drill movements, all of which reflected the young leaders' high standards of training and discipline.

As military leaders, officers will have to develop a strategic mindset, cultivate an adaptive temperament, and acquire the mental resilience essential to hone the skills for military leadership, President Kovind told the Gentlemen Cadets, emphasising that physical and mental toughness alone are not enough to tackle modern-day threats to the country, "but as military leaders, officers will have to develop a strategic mindset, cultivate an adaptive temperament, and acquire the mental resilience essential to hone the skills for military leadership."

'Another Landmark Milestone': 387 Gentleman Cadets Graduated From IMA

According to the Indian Military Academy, today marks "another landmark milestone" as 387 Gentleman Cadets from 149 Regular courses and 132 Technical Graduate courses, including 68 Gentleman Cadets from 10 friendly foreign countries, successfully graduated from the Indian Military Academy, overcoming all COVID-19 challenges.

"The Gentleman Cadets displayed inspiring enthusiasm and zeal, and put up an excellent show, marching with perfection to Military tunes of 'Col Bogey', `Sare Jahan Se Achha' and 'Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja' with pride and elan reflecting in each step. They knew that their parents and loved ones were witnessing each step with great pride and affection including those watching the live coverage on all media platforms across the globe," the IMA was quoted by ANI in its report.
