Afghan Embassy India Tweet Criticises 'Runaway' Prez Ashraf Ghani, Official Says Twitter Account Hacked

The Taliban said that the group agreed for Ghani to resign after a political agreement, followed by handing over the power to a transitional government.

New Delhi: The press secretary of the Afghan embassy in India, Abdulhaq Azad, informed that he has lost access to the Afghan Embassy India. 

"I have lost access to the Twitter handle of Afghan Embassy India, a friend sent a screenshot of this tweet, (this tweet is hidden from me.) I have tried to log in but can’t access it. Seems it is hacked," Azad tweeted on Monday morning.

President Ashraf Ghani left the country for Tajikistan along with his close aides, as the Taliban encircled Kabul, sealing a nationwide military victory that saw all cities fall to them in just 10 days. The Taliban said that the group agreed for Ghani to resign after a political agreement, followed by handing over the power to a transitional government.

Many tweets on the Afghan embassy in India handle which berated Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani for fleeing the country have now been deleted. Social media users called Ghani a "coward" for leaving the country & its people in chaos. 

On a Facebook post, he wrote, "Today, I came across a hard choice; I should stand to face the armed Taliban who wanted to enter the palace or leave the dear country that I dedicated my life to protecting and protecting the past twenty years. If there were still countless countrymen martyred and they would face the destruction and destruction of Kabul city, the result would have been a big human disaster in this six million city. The Taliban have made it to remove me, they are here to attack all Kabul and the people of Kabul. In order to avoid the bleeding flood, I thought it was best to get out." 

Thousands of people were on Monday trying to escape Kabul and the feared hardline brand of Islamic rule of the Taliban, with scenes of chaos as crowds gathered at the airport.
