PM Modi To Chair Key Meet Of Ministers Next Week Amid Cabinet Reshuffle Buzz

The Union Council of Ministers' meeting on July 3 is expected to take place at the newly constructed convention centre in Pragati Maidan, which is also slated to host the G20 summit in September.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers on July 3. This gathering follows a series of intense discussions between Modi and top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), leading to speculation regarding a potential reshuffle of the Council of Ministers, reported news agency PTI.

The meeting on July 3 is expected to take place at the newly constructed convention centre in Pragati Maidan, which is also slated to host the G20 summit in September.

PM Modi on Wednesday engaged in extensive deliberations with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and other prominent figures. Nadda's participation in the meeting sparked conjecture about possible changes within the government and the BJP organization, including at the state level, as the party prepares for upcoming crucial assembly elections later this year and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Over the past few days, Shah, Nadda, and BJP General Secretary (Organization) B L Santosh have held multiple rounds of discussions on both organizational and political matters.

PM Modi's recent emphasis on a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) during a rally in Bhopal indicates that the BJP intends to highlight its core ideological principles ahead of the 2024 elections. Furthermore, elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Mizoram are scheduled to occur later this year, just preceding the Monsoon Session of Parliament, which is anticipated to commence in the third week of July.

Meanwhile, the Opposition is also trying to prepare a strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. As many as 32 leaders from at least 15 parties met in Patna on June 23. The next meeting of the Opposition will be held in Bengaluru on July 13-14, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said on Thursday evening. Earlier, the meeting was scheduled to be held in Shimla.
