PM Modi Hosts Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan In Delhi, Hails 'Deep-Rooted' India-UAE Friendship

Prime Minister Modi met with Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan, discussing the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hosted Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), during his two-day official visit to India. This marks Sheikh Hamdan’s first official visit to India in his capacity as Crown Prince.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Modi posted on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, “Glad to meet HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. Dubai has played a key role in advancing the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This special visit reaffirms our deep-rooted friendship and paves the way for even stronger collaboration in the future.”

Sheikh Hamdan, who arrived in New Delhi earlier in the day at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi, echoed the sentiment, writing on X, “It was a pleasure meeting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in New Delhi. Our conversations reaffirmed the strength of UAE–India ties which is built on trust, shaped by history, and driven by a shared vision to create a future full of opportunity, innovation, and lasting prosperity.”

The Crown Prince is accompanied by several ministers, senior government officials, and a high-level business delegation. Prime Minister Modi hosted a working lunch in honour of the visiting dignitary.

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Holds Talks With Jaishankar, Rajnath Singh

In addition to his meeting with the Prime Minister, Sheikh Hamdan also held discussions with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar expressed his appreciation on X, saying, “Delighted to welcome Crown Prince of Dubai and DPM & Minister of Defence of UAE HH Hamdan Mohammed at the start of his first official visit to India. Value his positive sentiments for our wide-ranging cooperation and vibrant ties.”

After his engagements in Delhi, the Crown Prince is scheduled to travel to Mumbai, where he will participate in a business roundtable with prominent industry leaders from both countries. This interaction is expected to bolster India–UAE economic and commercial collaboration across both traditional and emerging sectors.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), “Traditionally, Dubai has played an important role in India’s commercial, cultural and people-to-people exchanges with the UAE. Majority of India’s around 4.3 million diaspora in UAE reside and work in Dubai. The visit of His Highness the Crown Prince will further solidify the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and strengthen our multifaceted ties with Dubai.”
