India Will Punish Terrorists, Pursue Them To The Ends Of Earth: PM Modi Vows Revenge 'From The Soil Of Bihar'

In the first public address after the Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi observed silence for a few moments to pay homage to the victims of the attack.

In his first public address following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a strong warning to the perpetrators and those supporting them. Speaking at an event in Madhubani, the Prime Minister vowed that justice would be served and that those behind the attack would not be spared. Without naming anyone, the Prime Minister stated in Hindi that "Mitti Mein Milane Ka Samay Agaya Hai" (The time has come to reduce them to dust) before switching the warning portion of his speech from Hindi to English. The language switch evidently meant to ensure that his message was clear to the world.

"Everyone is saddened... the pain is the same from Kargil to Kanyakumari... From the soil of Bihar, I say to the whole world that India will identify and punish every terrorist and their backers. We will pursue them to the ends of the earth. India's spirit will never be broken. Every effort will be made to ensure justice is done. The entire nation stands firm in this resolve. I thank the people of various countries who believe in humanity."

The Prime Minister is in Bihar for the National Panchayati Raj Day programme. Before the start of his address, PM Modi urged the gathering to observe silence as a mark of respect to "our family members" who lost their lives on April 22 in Pahalgam.
