Pitiable condition of over 120 cows in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur

New Delhi: Several cows have died at Shahajahanpur’s gaushala in the BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh in the past months amid a raging debate in the country on cow protection and the growing number of attacks by right-wing vigilantes especially against people of the minority community. Nearly 124 cows in the shed live in starvation and their weak condition is visibly seen in the land which is spread in 2200 bighas. The bank account meant for the government-run cow shed has Rs 31 lakh. However, a staffer at the cowshed said Chief Veterinary Officer and the doctor can only withdraw Rs 31,000 from the bank and anything more than would require permission from the district magistrate. The grass cutting machine is also malfunctioning leaving the cows hungry. ABP News has drawn attention of the Yogi government over the pitiable condition of the cowshed. (WATCH FULL REPORT BELOW)
