Pinaka Rocket: DRDO Successfully Tests Pinaka-ER, Know Features Of This Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher
Pinaka Rocket: The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) tested the extended-range version of the Pinaka rocket system.
Pinaka Rocket: India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Saturday successfully test-fired the extended version of Pinaka-ER, enhancing the capability of the Pinaka rocket launcher system. The test was conducted at Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur off the Odisha coast.
DRDO announced in a tweet that the test was successful. “Successful tests of Pinaka Extended Range (Pinaka-ER), Area Denial Munitions (ADM) and indigenously developed fuzes were carried out at various test ranges,” read the tweet.

A total of 25 enhanced Pinaka rockets were reportedly fired from multi-barrel rocket launchers (MRLs) at several ranges during the test. The range version can destroy the target of up to 45 km. At the same time, the flight path of these missiles was tracked by range instruments including telemetry, radar, and electro-optical tracking system deployed by ITR and Proof and Experimental Establishment (PXE).
ARDE Developed Pinaka Rocket System
A statement issued by the Ministry of Defence said that the mission fulfilled all its objectives. According to the information, the Pinaka rocket system was developed by Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE). The Economic Explosives Limited built the rocket in Nagpur. Work will be done to improve its range and accuracy.
Decision Taken last Year
In September last year, DRDO had given the Authority Holding Sealed Particular (AHSP) responsibility of Pinaka Weapon System to DGQA.
