Manufactured by Haridwar-based Divya Pharmacy and Patanjali Ayurved Ltd, the medicine is the result of a research partnership between Patanjali Research Institute and the Jaipur based National Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS). As the entire nation looks hopeful of overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic after Ramdev's claim, ABP News spoke to the Yoga Guru to know more about the first ever anti-Coronavirus Ayurvedic medicine. Here are the excerpts from Baba Ramdev's interview with ABP News: Q. Patanjali claims to have cured 100 per cent patients with Coronil. Is this the only official approval? ICMR or Health Ministry's permission is not required? Ans: There is no need to get approvals from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). In order to conduct a clinical trial, an approval is required from an Ethics Committee. Apart from it, registration under Central Trial Registry of India (CTRI) is required and Patanjali has followed all these required protocols. More importantly, such trails are Blind Trails, which means even patients are not aware that trails are made on them. This is done to avoid any psychological effects on the patients. The first clinical trail which we conducted on 280 patients also gave 100 per cent successful results. Clinical control trails are important as this is base to make such evidence-based medicines. The clinical trails of Patanjali in association with NIMS showed 69 per cent positive results in 3 days and 100 per cent patients recovered and turned negative from Covid-19 positive in 7 days. Q. What was the age group of these patients shortlisted by Patanjali for clinical trials? Ans: Patients between the age group of 15-65 years were incorporated in this clinical trails. What is more interesting is the fact that none of these patients practiced any kind of Yoga or Pranayams. There were kept under serious monitoring. We are ready to answer any questions and there were no hide and seek during the clinical trails. Q. What are components used in Patanjali's Ayurvedic medicine called Coronil? Ans: The ingredients used to make the Coronil are 100 per cent Ayurvedic. Coronil is made of the extracts of pure Giloy, Tulsi and Ashwagandha. The other two medicines to be taken along with Coronil are 'Shwasari' which works on strengthening the respiratory system and cures the obvious symptoms of corona including cough, cold and fever and a nasal drop named 'Anu Tel' which helps build immunity. Q. What are the prescribed doses for these 3 medicines? Ans: It is very easy to take these medicine by Patanjali which comes in a pack named 'Corona Kit' Coronil - Take three tablets of Coronil in morning, afternoon and night Shwasari - Take three tablets of Shwasari in morning, afternoon and night Anu Tel - Put 3 drops of the Ayurvedic oil in nose, early in the morning with empty stomach Q. How to get Patanjali's 'Corona Kit'? Ans: People have already started calling out centres to get the medicines. I would wanted to inform everyone that within 7 days, the 'Corona Kit' will me made available for people. From the coming Monday, we are launching a mobile app so that customers can order the medicine sitting at home. Online delivery of the medicine will be made in maximum 3 days of order. Q. What is the price of Patanjali's Corona Kit? Ans: We have clubbed all three medicines in a combined pack and named it Corona Kit. Pricing of the medicines are: Coronil - Rs 400, Shwasari: Rs 120 and Anu Tel: Rs 15. The total price of the kit stands at just Rs 535. At a time when world renown medical researchers and global pharmaceuticals companies are all hands of deck to come with a medicine or vaccine for Covid-19 that has already taken over 4 lakh lives and infected over 92 lakh people, Patanjali's 'Coronil' which comes in a 'Corona Kit' might rise up as a game changer.
