Part Of Broken Chair Hurled At Bihar CM Nitish Kumar During Samadhan Yatra In Aurangabad. VIDEO
A piece of a chair was hurled at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar during his Samadhan Yatra when security personnel stopped locals from meeting him due to protocol.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's security cover saw a major lapse on Monday in Aurangabad on Monday where he was conducting the 'Samadhan Yatra'. Nitish Kumar was in the district's Kanchanpur to inaugurate the Panchayat Sarkar Bhawan when the incident happened.
According to sources, residents of Kanchanpur were angry as security personnel had stopped them from meeting Kumar. As Nitish Kumar passed the crowd, someone threw a piece of a broken chair towards him, which missed him by inches.
A video of the incident has now gone viral. Nitish was inspecting the stalls set up by 'Jeevika Didis' – members of self-help groups (SHGs) under a rural livelihood project – and the panchayat department on Monday. Sources said that the locals wanted to meet the CM to air their grievances. However, they weren't allowed to meet due to security protocol.
The piece of the chair that was thrown at the CM missed him but hit a security person. The piece of the chair was confiscated, but the culprit is yet to be found.
This wasn't the first time that people staged a protest during CM Nitish Kumar's Samadhan Yatra. When he was in Katihar earlier this month, the locals wanted to meet him. However, security personnel stopped the locals from meeting CM Kumar. This angered them and they resorted to arson and protests.
Even in Saran district, Nitish Kumar's convoy was shown a black flag by a youth who broke through the security near Joganiya Kothi and stood in front of the lead car. The youth was later arrested.
Nitish Kumar began his Samadhan Yatra on January 5 as part of his efforts to review government schemes and projects across the state.
