BJP Issues Three-Line Whip For Rajya Sabha MPs To Be Present On December 16, 17
BJP has issued a three-line whip to its Rajya Sabha members, requiring them to be present on December 16 and 17 for a special discussion on the 75th anniversary of the Constitution of India.
Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday issued a three-line whip for its Rajya Sabha MPs to remain present on December 16 and 17 for special discussion on Constitution.
"All BJP Members in Rajya Sabha are hereby informed that special discussion on the 75th Anniversary of adoption of the Constitution of India will be taken up in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, the 16th December and Tuesday, the 17th December 2024," BJP chief whip Laxmikant Bajpai in a notice.
"All Members of BJP in Rajya Sabha are, therefore, requested to be positively present in the House throughout on both days i.e. Monday, the 16th December and Tuesday, the 17th December 2024 and support the Government's stand," the notice read.

On Thursday, the party issued a whip for its Lok Sabha MPs to be present in the house on December 13-14 during the scheduled debate on the Constitution in India.
The special debate on the Constitution began on Friday with Union Minister Rajnath Singh opening the discussion. Congress Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi also spoke in the debate marking her debut speech in the Parliament.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will respond to the debate on Saturday, according to ANI. The debate on the 75th anniversary of India's Constitution in the Rajya Sabha will be initiated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on December 16.
The Congress had also issued a whip to its party MPs to remain present in Lok Sabha on Friday and Saturday.
The whip by both the parties was issued on Thursday shortly after the Union Cabinet approved the 'One Nation One Election' Bill. The Bill is expected to be introduced in the Parliament next week.
Earlier, a report on conducting simultaneous electios in the country was submitted by a committee led by former President of India, Ramnath Kovind.
