Amid COVID-19 Pandemic, Pak Violates Ceasefire While India Targets Terror Launch Pads In Retaliation

Srinagar: While the entire world is busy battling the surging cases of Coronavirus, Pakistan Army has shamelessly continued its unprovoked ceasefire violations across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu & Kashmir region. According to latest reports, Pakistan retorted to ceasefire violation in Keran sector in Kupwara district this afternoon. Reacting strongly to the blatant act by enemy side, Indian Army carried out precision targeting of gun areas and terror launch pads across the Line of Control from its posts in the Keran sector of Kupwara. The Indian Army also released a footage from a drone showing Pakistani Army ammunition dump being hit by Indian Bofors artillery guns.  The video shows multiple explosions.

A defence spokesperson told news agency PTI that the Indian Army retaliated "effectively and strongly" to the ceasefire violation in Keran sector in Kupwara district this afternoon, with precision targeting of gun areas, terrorist launchpads and ammunition dump across the LoC. Officials also informed that the Indian Army targeted the Kel launching pads in Neelum Valley. "(There are) reports of heavy damage on the enemy side," sources added. Officials also informed that Pakistan violated the ceasefire in Uri area of Baramulla district as well. Pakistan has been increasingly violating the ceasefire agreement with India even as the focus in the two countries has shifted to fight the Coronavirus pandemic. All through the week, it fired small arms and mortar shells along the LoC in Poonch district. The continuous violation of ceasefire agreement by Pakistan comes at a time when the country is witnessing a severe economic fallout and is reportedly unable to provide financial aids to its administration to fight the Coronavirus pandemic. The total number of Coronavirus cases in Pakistan has sharply increased to 4,601 with more than 280 fresh infections while the death toll reached 66. The total tally of Covid-19 patients in the largest province of Punjab was 2,270, Sindh 1,128, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) 620, Balochistan 219, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) 215, Islamabad 107 and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir 33.
