Owaisi Convoy Attack: BJP Minister Sunil Bharala Extends Support To AIMIM Chief's Attackers, Assures 'Fair Trial'

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party Leader (BJP) Sunil Bharala has come out in support of two people arrested for attack on Convoy of All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Lok Sabha MP Asadaddin Owaisi.
Bharala met the families of Sachin Sharma and Shubham, accused in the case, on Tuesday and assured them of impartial inquiry into the incident.
Taking to twitter the minister said, "We will give full cooperation to Sachin and Shubham's family in every way. There will be a fair investigation in the matter."
Bharala, who is Minister of State for Labour Welfare Council had visited Sachin Sharma's house in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
After meeting the family he promised them of help and also said that the accused have been "framed" and that fair probe is required into the matter.
On February 3, shots were fired on the vehicle of Asaduddin Owaisi while returning to Delhi from poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.
According to Owaisi, three to four rounds of bullets were fired upon his vehicle near Chhajarsi toll plaza - on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway - while he was heading back to the capital from his election campaign in Kithaur, Meerut district.
Soon after the incident, both the accused were arrested by the police and sent to 14-day judicial custody after they were made to appear before a court by police post interrogation.
The attack on Asadaddin Owaisi forced the government to provide him with Z category security, which was turned down by the Hyderabad MP in the Parliament.
