Oil Tanker With 25 Indians On Board Attacked By Drone In Red Sea, All Safe: Navy

The Indian Navy has said that a Gabbon-flagged vessel MV Saibaba has also suffered a drone attack in the Red Sea, news agency ANI reported on Sunday. According to the officials, the vessel was carrying 25 Indian crew members on board and all of them are safe. The officials also underlined that It is not an Indian-flagged vessel.

The US Central Command said the vessel, MV Sai Baba, was targeted by a drone launched by Houthi militants in the Southern Red Sea on Saturday, as reported by PTI. The US military's statement on the attack came a day after merchant vessel MV Chem Pluto, with around 20 Indian crew members, was hit by a suspected drone about 217 nautical miles off the Porbandar coast in the Arabian sea.

In a statement on December 23, the US Central Command said that two Houthi anti-ship ballistic missiles were fired into international shipping lanes in the Southern Red Sea from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. No ships reported being impacted by the ballistic missiles.

Between 3 and 8 pm (Sanaa time), the USS LABOON (DDG 58) was patrolling in the Southern Red Sea as part of Operation Prosperity Guardian (OPG) and shot down four unmanned aerial drones originating from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen that were inbound to the USS LABOON. There were no injuries or damage in this incident, the statement informed.

At approximately 8 pm (Sanaa time), US Naval Forces Central Command received reports from two ships in the Southern Red Sea that they were under attack, the statement further read.
