'Nobody Dare Displace Us': RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's 'Navreh' Resolve For Kashmiri Pandits

Bhagwat was speaking at a virtual event where he addressed the Kashmiri Pandit community on the occasion of Navreh Mahotsav.

New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevaka Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that Kashmiri Pandits should settle in Kashmir next year and they should settle in a way that no one is able to uproot them.

Bhagwat was speaking at a virtual event where he addressed the Kashmiri Pandit community on the occasion of Navreh Mahotsav. The three-day event organised by RSS to make Kashmiri Pandits take a pledge of settling back in Kashmir next year.

During his address, Bhagwa said, “We're (Kashmiri Pandits) bearing the brunt of getting displaced from our home in our own country for the last 3-4 decades. It's imperative that we shouldn't accept defeat in this situation and face challenges.”

He further added, “We left (Kashmir) because of extremism but when we'll return now, we'll go back as Hindus and 'BharatBhakt' with an assurance of our security and livelihood. We'll live in a way that nobody will dare to displace us.”

Bhagwat went on to talk about article 370 as he pointed out that he had earlier promised the abrogation which has now become a truth.

“Earlier I said that the issue of Kashmiri Pandits will be solved through public awareness and hindrances such as Article 370 must be removed. After 2011, in these 11 years, due to our collective efforts, there's no Art.370,” he said.

He also talked about the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ which talks about the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley in the early 1990s.

“The movie 'Kashmir Files' has come that is portraying the story of Kashmiri Pandits. Some people are in favour while some are against it. The movies have showcased an unfortunate reality of the drastic tragedy of Kashmiri Pandits which shocked all of us,” Bhagwat said.

The movie has been in the headlines in the past few days as it was made tax-free by many BJP ruled states.
