No Freebie-For-Votes Policy Under Modi Govt: Union Health Minister Mandaviya

The Union Health Minister also mentioned the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which has benefited over 12 crore families.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized that the Narendra Modi government has prioritized implementing public welfare schemes without resorting to offering freebies in exchange for votes. Speaking about the achievements of the government over the past nine years, he highlighted the significant progress made by the country, reported news agency PTI.

Mandaviya commended the successful handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting that not only were 1.3 billion people in the country vaccinated, but vaccines were also exported to other nations. He added that the Modi government has charted a roadmap to transform India into an advanced nation by 2047 and has already begun working towards that goal. The government has shifted away from a culture of offering freebies and instead focused on empowering the people.

The Union Health Minister also mentioned the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which has benefited over 12 crore families. He noted that around 42,000 hospitals across the country are covered by this scheme. However, he claimed that the people of Punjab were unable to reap the benefits of the scheme due to delays in releasing funds by the state government. Mandaviya asserted that after the Union government's intervention, the people of Punjab began receiving the benefits of the scheme again.

Regarding healthcare accessibility, Mandaviya informed that there are currently 9,500 Jan Aushadhi centres operating across the country, with over 250 in Punjab alone, the PTI report stated.

Highlighting Prime Minister Modi's dedication to positioning India as a global leader and superpower, Mandaviya stated that the world recognizes India's potential in the 21st century.

Mandaviya criticized the Congress party, asserting that in the past nine years, India has moved away from the Congress's "Mera parivar, Mera vikas (my family, my development)" approach and embraced the policy of "sab ka sath, sab ka vikas" (collective participation, collective development). He concluded by highlighting that India's voice is now heard and respected on the global stage.
