New MSME Minister Asks Officers About Ministry's Output; Left Red-Faced On Being 'Unanswered'
As soon as Narayan Rane took charge of the MSME ministry, he asked few questions to the officers present there.
New Delhi: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister, Narayan Rane took over the new role of Union Minister for MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises). On his first day, Narayan Rane said that MSME will work on "creating more jobs for youth and accelerating GDP growth".
At the time when Narayan Rane was taking charge of his ministry, he asked few questions to the officers present. The officers standing with a bouquet to welcome the new minister started peeping right to left after not being able to reply to his questions.
Questions Asked By New MSME Minister
Narayan Rane hurled a few questions at his officers present on the occasion. He asked about the "contribution of MSME ministry to the GDP", followed by "employment opportunities created by MSME in last two years".
On not getting answers, a visibly irate Minister questioned the functioning and said: "Have you even not brought any file in your hand? Who will tell this data?"
To this, one officer answered, "people are on leave and have a wedding at their house." He added that on their return officers "will provide the data".
On listening to this reply, Narayan Rane asked "how many employees have gone to the wedding?" The Minister then asked the officers present to come with complete data by evening and warned about the consequences for the negligence of work under him.
