CBI Notice To Satyapal Malik:
The CBI has issued a notice to former J&K governor Satyapal Malik in connection with an insurance scam. Satyapal Malik reported the case, and the agency wants certain clarifications, according to the former J&K governor. According to Satyapal Malik, the CBI has requested his presence at the agency's Akbar Road guesthouse for "certain clarifications."
While the former Governor has recently been in the news due to an interview in which he made certain claims about the Pulwama terror attack, this is not the first time the CBI has summoned Malik in connection with this case.
The CBI filed two FIRs in April last year in response to Malik's allegations of corruption in the awarding of contracts for a group medical insurance scheme for government employees and civil work worth Rs 2,200 crore related to the Kiru hydroelectric power project in Jammu and Kashmir.

Former J&K Guv On Pulwama Attacks:
Malik last week said in an interview with a media outlet that the Pulwama attack was the result of deep failures on the part of India's government and security establishment. He also stated that when he brought this to the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, they asked Malik to remain silent on the matter.
"CRPF people (had) requested aircraft to ferry their people because such a large convoy does not normally travel by road," Malik explained, adding that the request was made to the Home Ministry but "they refused to give." "I told the Prime Minister that very evening... ki yeh hamari galti se hua hai." If an aircraft is not detected, it does not exist. "Unhone mujhe kaha ki tum ab chup raho," he says (I informed him that this was due to our error. This would not have happened if we had provided aircraft. He told me to keep quiet).
"I told him that it was our mistake, and I had already told a couple of channels," he added. He said, "Don't say all of this..." "Yeh koi aur cheez hai....woh bolne do," Malik said in an interview with The Wire.
