Muzaffarpur shelter home rape: 'Was going to join Congress' says accused Brajesh Thakur
He also claimed that he is innocent and is being framed because it was almost sure that he would contest elections from Muzaffarpur.
New Delhi: The main accused in Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case, Brajesh Thakur, today said that he was planning to contest elections on Congress' ticket, adding a new twist to the case. He also claimed innocence and said that he was being framed in politically motivated conspiracy.
All the ten accused in the Muzaffarpur case, including Thakur, were today produced in a special POCSO court.
CBI had filed a plea seeking that the charge sheet by the POCSO court and the case diary be made available to it, which was approved by the court.
After going through the call detail record of Thakur, it was found that Thakur had made several phone calls to Bihar cabinet minister Manju Verma’s husband.
While talking to media on his way to the court, Thakur, however denied all the allegations against him claiming that he was innocent.
He said that he never had any relation with ‘Madhu’ who is another accused in the case and is still absconding. It has been alleged Madhu who has been working at Brajesh’s NGO since years shared a close relation with him. Thakur has refuted all the claims.
However he admitted that he had friendly terms with the husband of Manju Verma current Minister of Social Welfare in the Bihar Cabinet.
“I've never had any relation with Madhu. This has been propagated by some newspapers who want my newspaper office to shut down. Their business is getting affected due to my newspaper that's why it's happening” said Brajesh who also runs a Hindi daily.
At a time when the ruling NDA government was facing flak for Thakur's alleged closeness with BJP, Thakur rejected all such reports.
He said that he was thinking of joining Congress and it was almost final that he would contest elections from Muzaffarpur and due to this he was being framed. He also said that none of the girls took his name. He said that it has not been confirmed that the girls were raped. He claimed that the girls were given money to speak against him.
