Mumbai Police Receives Threat Call To Blow Up Kurla West Area
The Mumbai Police has off late been receiving such hoax bomb threat calls, which has turned into a nuisance for the agencies.
New Delhi: The Mumbai Police control room received a call from an unidentified person on Tuesday at 11 pm. The caller said that the bomb was placed in Kurla West.
Sources reported that the unknown caller said that there would be a blast in the next 10 minutes and disconnected the call. After receiving the information, the police came into action and a team of was deployed in in the heavily populated area.
Despite searching for hours, the police did not find anything suspicious. The investigation is going on and the police are trying to trace caller. According to sources, the police found that the number through which the call was made had been switched off.

In a similar case, the Nagpur Police Control received a call on Tuesday threatening to blow up houses of three prominent personalities in Mumai. The caller claimed that that bomb blasts will rock the homes of business magnate Mukesh Ambani, Antilia, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and cine star Dharmendra.
The Nagpur Police immediately informed the Mumbai Police about the call.
While the police swung into action and checked everywhere around the area, they did not find anything out of the ordinary. However, to be safe, the police have increased security in these areas.
Earlier in February, the Google office in Mumbai received a threat call stating there was a bomb planted in the Pune office. According to PTI, the office was put on alert for a brief period following the threat call that turned out to be a hoax, police said adding that Pune police and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad reached the spot and carried out extensive searches. One man was arrested for the hoax call, and he admitted that he called when he was in an inebriated state. The man was traced to Hyderabad and apprehended from there.
