Mujgund encounter: Firing resumes after hours; 2 terrorists gunned down

This created a ruckus in the area as several announcements were made in mosques, requesting people to come on streets.

New Delhi: Hours after firing stopped at Mujgund encounter site in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar, the firing again began on Sunday morning, increasing the suspicion of presence of one more terrorists in the area. The security forces had gunned down two terrorists on Saturday. The incident also left 3 security officials injured, who were later rushed to the hospital. The encounter began after the security forces on receiving a tip-off about presence of terrorists blasted at least 4 houses in the area, which was assumed to have killed two terrorists, whose bodies are yet to be recovered. This created a ruckus in the area as several announcements were made in mosques, requesting people to come on streets. The area is on the outskirts of Srinagar and bordering Bandipore. The security officials had also scrapped the mobile internet services in the area. The encounter is still underway. More details on the same are awaited.
