SHOCKING! 16-Year-Old Rape Victim Made To Parade With Accused As Villagers Chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'

Among those who forced to parade the victim her were her own family members to shame her. Police rescued the victim and have held 6.

Bhopal: In a shocking news, a video has surfaced in which a 16 year old rape victim was forced to parade around with the accused. The video is from tribal- dominated Alirajpur about 400 km from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Police said that the minor was raped by a 21-year-old man on Sunday following which villagers paraded both the accused and the victim in public by tying them with ropes.

According to a PTI report, six people, including the accused, have been arrested, police said, after the clip triggered shock and outrage.

In the disturbing video, shows them both tied with ropes as people around chant slogans, some men chant "Bharat Mata Ki Jai". Among those who forced to parade her were her own family members to shame her. 

According to PTI report, Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Dilip Singh Bilwal said two cases were registered on Sunday on the FIRs lodged by the victim. Bilwal was quoted as saying, "one of the cases was registered against the 21-year-old man who is accused of rape. Another FIR was registered against family members of the girl and villagers for parading her in the village and beating her." He further added that the rape accused is married with two children.

The accused has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act whereas, the family members and relatives of the victim were booked under sections 294 (Obscene act in public places), 355 (Assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour person), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement) and other sections of the IPC, the officer told PTI.
