MP Govt Announces Two-Day Lockdown Every Week In Districts With High Coronavirus Cases; Check Guidelines

Chief Minister urged the people to celebrate the upcoming festivals inside their homes, without organising large gatherings.

Witnessing the continuous spike in the number of Coronavirus cases in the state, Madhya Pradesh government has decided to impose two-day lockdown each week in districts with a high incidence of the COVID-19. ALSO READ | Total Lockdown In West Bengal For Two Days Every Week

As per the latest development, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday announced that there is an urgent need to control the spread of the virus for which two-day lockdown in some districts has been decided. One of the two days will include Sundays, besides the night curfew that will be imposed from 8 pm to 5 am in all districts.

As quoted in various media reports, CM in a review meeting said that "All activities, except essential services, will be restricted during this period." "The two-day lockdown will include Sundays, but another day, either Saturday or Monday, will be decided by the district crisis management group," he added.

While discussing more measures to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, the cabinet also decided to restrict the working strength in offices. CM said that all offices of the State and Central Government, Private and Business establishments will operate with 30 per cent to 50 per cent working strength in all districts except the unaffected ones, where they will work at full strength. Private offices and business institutions found with a COVID-19 positive patient will be shut for a period of seven days in order to sanatise the place effectively.

Further, in the review meeting, Chief Minister urged the people to celebrate the upcoming festivals inside their homes, without organising large gatherings that can prompt the spread of Coronavirus infection.

As per the latest updates from the Madhya Pradesh Health Department, as many as 710 new COVID-19 positive cases and 17 deaths were reported in the state on Monday. With this, the total number of cases has been pushed to 23,310 including 6,888 active cases and 738 deaths.
