Manoj Tiwari levelled frivolous allegations against court-mandated committee, which shows how low he can stoop: SC
This comes after the Delhi Police lodged an FIR against Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Manoj Tiwari in September for breaking the lock of a house sealed by the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) in northeast Delhi’s Gokulpur.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday declined to take any action against BJP Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari for breaking the seal of a locked house in an unauthorised colony in North East Delhi's Gokulpur area. Supreme Court says that it “did not find any contempt of court by Manoj Tiwari”. The Supreme Court therefore left it to BJP to take actions against Manoj Tiwari. The court however expressed disappointment over Tiwari’s act of breaking civic agency’s seal on his own and taking law in his hands.
“We are extremely pained by Manoj Tiwari's behaviour of taking law into his own hands” the apex court said.
The court further said that “Manoj Tiwari levelled frivolous allegations against court-mandated committee, which shows how low he can stoop”.
Hours after the case was filed, Tiwari visited the same neighbourhood and again tried to break the seal, terming the corporation’s action “illegal”.
