Mamata Banerjee To Meet Sharad Pawar In Mumbai Today, Malik Says No Oppn Front Without Congress
Mamata Banerjee Mumbai Visit: Mamata eyes to build third-front, but NCP says 'opposition front not without Congress'.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Mumbai Visit: Today is the second day of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's visit to Mumbai. During this visit, she is accompanied by her nephew and MP Abhishek Banerjee. Today i.e. on December 1 at 3 pm, Mamta Banerjee will meet NCP supremo Sharad Pawar.
Mamta Banerjee, who reached Mumbai to unite non-Congress parties, has got a setback of sorts. Before meeting Sharad Pawar, Nawab Malik has said that an opposition front is not possible without Congress.
NCP leader Malik said Pawar has repeatedly stressed on the need for all opposition parties to unite, but without the Congress, such an alliance was not possible. "We feel that if Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress can join hands in Maharashtra, then TMC can also cooperate with Congress. If there are some differences, they can be resolved," Malik said.
"We believe that a united Opposition front is not possible excluding Congress. Pawar sahab has clarified this several times,” Malik added.
Mamta Banerjee is contemplating expanding TMC (Trinamool Congress) at the national level. This is the reason why he has been touring states across the country for the last few days. She is also meeting many political leaders.
Mamta Banerjee visited Siddhivinayak temple on Tuesday during her visit to Mumbai. Speaking at the temple, she chanted 'Jai Maratha, Jai Bangla'.
Today Mamta Banerjee is going to meet Sharad Pawar of NCP. She is also expected to meet Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today, who was hospitalised last week.
This evening, @rautsanjay61 ji and I called on West Bengal CM @MamataOfficial didi, during her visit to Maharashtra. The bond between CM Uddhav Thackeray ji and CM Mamata Didi is strong.

Mamata Banerjee meets Shiv Sena leaders Aaditya Thackeray, Sanjay Raut
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee met Shiv Sena leaders Aaditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut on Tuesday. The meeting between the leaders is being seen as an attempt by the Trinamool Congress chief to reach out to other opposition parties. Sources said that Banerjee, who is on a Maharashtra tour, was also supposed to meet Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, but she is ill, so her son and minister in the state government Aaditya Thackeray met the Trinamool chief.
Sources said that Aditya also gifted Banerjee a coffee-table book of his father's photographs. She also paid tribute to police constable Tukaram Ombale, who was martyred in the 2008 Mumbai terror attack.
