MASK MANDATE IN HARYANA

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Monday announced that wearing masks will be mandatory for all healthcare workers and in areas where a gathering of over 100 people is expected, due to a rise in Covid cases in certain parts of the state. The Chandigarh administration has also issued an advisory urging residents to follow Covid-related guidelines, such as wearing masks in crowded areas and closed settings.

Vij said that Covid tests will be mandatory for patients showing symptoms of cough and cold. Patients who tested positive for Covid will undergo genome sequencing. The Haryana government has also asked all health facilities to check the travel history of suspected cases. As of now, there are 724 active cases in Haryana, with no patients hospitalized.

Vij has urged people to follow social distancing guidelines and wear masks to curb the spread of the virus. The state has 53 testing labs, 26 of which are government-run.
