Maharashtra's ministerial portfolios were announced, with Chief Minister Fadnavis handling Home, Energy, and Law
The Maharashtra government on Saturday formally announced the allocation of portfolios among the ministers. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, has been entrusted with key responsibilities. The allocations were confirmed in a letter from Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan to the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will oversee key departments, including Home, Energy (excluding Renewable Energy), Law and Judiciary, General Administration, and Information and Publicity. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been given charge of Urban Development, Housing, and Public Works (Public Enterprises). Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will manage the Finance and Planning Department and State Excise.

Maharashtra Portfolios: Bawankule Gets Revenue Dept, Pankaja Munde Alloted 3 Portfolios
In other cabinet positions, Chandrashekhar Bawankule will take charge of Revenue, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil will manage Water Resources for Krishna and Godavari Valley Development Corporation, and Chandrakant Patil will oversee Higher and Technical Education, alongside Parliamentary Affairs.
Girish Mahajan received Water Resources for Vidarbha, Tapi, and Konkan Development Corporation, as well as Disaster Management. Ganesh Naik has been given the Forests portfolio, Mangal Prabhat Lodha takes on Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. Jaykumar Raval will manage Marketing and Protocol.
Pankaja Munde is appointed for Environment and Climate Change, Animal Husbandry; Atul Save will handle OBC Welfare, Dairy Development, and Renewable Energy. Ashok Uike oversees Tribal Development, while Ashish Shelar is responsible for Cultural Affairs and Information Technology.
Shiv Sena ministers' roles include Gulabrao Patil for Water Supply and Sanitation, Dadaji Bhuse for School Education, Sanjay Rathod for Soil and Water Conservation, and Uday Samant manages Industries and Marathi Language.
In the NCP camp, Hasan Mushrif will handle Medical Education, while Dhananjay Munde has been appointed for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection. Dattatrey Bharne will oversee Sports, Youth Welfare, and Minority Development.
The portfolio allocations follow the conclusion of the state's weeklong winter session of the Legislature. Earlier this month, on December 15th, 39 ministers were sworn in, while Fadnavis and his deputies took office on December 5th.
The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), in alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena, secured a sweeping victory in the November 20 assembly elections, winning 230 out of 288 seats.
