Maharashtra Elections: Shiv Sena Releases First List Of 70 Candidates; To Contest On 124 Seats

Maharashtra Elections: Aaditya Thackeray, the son of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, will be debuting in the elections and will be contesting from Worli assembly seat.

Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019: Hours after Bharatiya Janata Party announced its first list of candidates, the Shiv Sena has also released its list of 124 seats that it will be contesting in the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections. The party, however, released names of only 70 candidates in the first go. The BJP had announced the name of candidates for 125 seats. In a joint statement issued by the BJP and the Shiv Sena on Monday, it was announced that the seat-sharing had been finalised between the alliance partners. Maharashtra will go to polls on October 21 and the results will be declared on October 24. The last date of filing nomination papers is October 4, while the date for their scrutiny is October 5.
