Maharashtra Polls: "Happy And Excited," Says Aaditya Thackeray As He Files Nomination From Worli
Before leaving for the roadshow, Aaditya tweeted a picture where he can be seen bowing before portrait of Sena patriarch Bala Saheb Thackeray.
New Delhi: Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray, who is set to become the first in his family line to debut as an electoral candidate, filed his nomination papers from Worli assembly seat on Thursday, in the presence of his father and Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeary.
Thackeray took out a huge roadshow in Mumbai, on Thursday, before filing his nomination papers.
The 29-year-old Thackeray, is contesting the Maharashtra Assembly elections from Worli. He is the first of his family to contest an election ever since Bal Thackeray founded the party.
Before leaving for filing his nomination, Aaditya tweeted a picture where he can be seen bowing before portrait of Sena patriarch Bala Saheb Thackeray.
In his nomination rally, a massive gathering was witnessed and Aaditya was seen waving at people and supporters of the party. Sena has been pitching Aaditya as the Chief Ministerial candidate of the party. His rally ended at the BMC Engineering Hub in Worli, where he filed his nomination at the office of Returning Officer. “I am happy and excited. It feels great to witness the support of people,” said a cheerful Thackeray. Thackeray's nomination rally also witnessed a show of support by Shiv Sena allies as flags of BJP and other NDA-ally Republican Party of India (A) were also seen during the nomination march. The Worli assembly seat is currently Sena’s held by Sunil Shinde. It is to be noted that no member of the family has ever contested an election or held a constitutional post, abiding by the precedents set by founder Bal Thackeray. Even, Raj Thackeray who parted ways from the Sena to form his own Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) never contested an election.???????? pic.twitter.com/uYgWnrnf1p
