Maharashtra: 7 MBBS Students Killed Including BJP MLA's Son In Wardha, PM Announces Ex Gratia
The car fell into a river in Wardha, Maharashtra as the driver lost control of the vehicle. The accident took place late at night at Selsura on Yavatmal Wardha Road.
Maharashtra Car Accident: A very tragic incident was reported from the Wardha district of Maharashtra on Tuesday morning. Last night, a car fell into the river from the bridge. Seven Medical students died a painful death in the accident. According to the information, the medical students were travelling from Dhaweli to the Wardha district of Maharashtra. Most of the students who died were between the age of 20 to 35 years. The injured were admitted to the district hospital in Wardha. A post-mortem of all the bodies is underway.
Wardha SP Prashant Holkar said that a car fell off a bridge near Selsura around 11:30 pm on Monday night. The students in the car were travelling to Wardha. An investigation is underway about how the accident happened.
BJP MLA's Son Among Those Killed
Among the deceased students is Avishkar Rahangdale, son of BJP MLA from the Tirora assembly constituency in the Gondia district of Maharashtra, Vijay Rahangdale. There were no survivors in the accident that took place late at night at a place called Selsura on Yavatmal Wardha Road. Prima facie it looks like the driver lost control of the car, due to which the students' car fell into a 40-foot deep ditch in the middle of the night which lead up to the major accident.
Meanwhile, Pm Narendra Modi has announced an ex gratia for the families of those who were killed in the accident. An amount of Rs 2 lakh from the PMNRF will be provided to the next of kin who lost their lives. And Rs 50,000 for the injured will be given.
