Maharashtra: 10 Test Covid Positive Ahead Of Vidhan Sabha Winter Session
Nearly 3,500 samples were tested ahead of the state assembly session scheduled to begin on Wednesday in Mumbai.
New Delhi: Ahead of the winter assembly session of the Maharashtra legislature, 10 people have been found covid-19 positive in RTPCR testing. 8 of them are policemen and 2 are Maharashtra Legislature staff members. No journalist or MLAs has been reported to be found covid positive.
Nearly 3,500 samples were tested ahead of the state assembly session scheduled to begin today in Mumbai.
A decision is yet to be taken if the samples are to be sent for genome sequencing in order to verify if the covid positive possesses the omicron variant or not.

In view of the health of the Maharastra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, this session of the state assembly is being held in Mumbai instead of Nagpur. There will be a first five-day session of the assembly, during which a decision will be taken to extend the session after discussing with the Business Advisory Committee. 5 bills are expected to be tabled during this session, including one related to women's safety.
During this winter session, post of the Maharashtra Legislature Assembly speaker is also to be filled. Maharashtra Assembly Speaker's post is vacant since Nana Patole's resignation.
The winter session is expected to be an uproarious one as many issues such as OBC reservation, delay in the examination, Maratha reservation, MSRTC employees' strike, arrest of former minister Anil Deshmukh are to be highlighted by assembly members.
