MP Govt Will Give Up Control Over Temple Affairs, To Set Up 'Brahmin Welfare Board': CM Chouhan

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was speaking at the occasion of Parshuram Jayanti on Saturday when he announced that the government will not have any control over the activities of the temples in the state and the auction of the temple land will be done by priests instead of district collectors. Chouhan praised Brahmins and said that we should be proud of the priests as they have contributed to protecting religion and culture, they have made contributions in the fields of science, ayurveda, legacy, and culture and worked to protect it.
According to news agency ANI, Chouhan said his government would set up a 'Brahmin Kalyan Board' or a Brahmin welfare board.

Addressing a Parshuram Jayanti event in the Gufa Mandir campus in Bhopal, he also said scholarships would be given to students studying Sanskrit and other aspects related to Hinduism. He said lessons about the mythological figure in the state's school syllabus till Class VIII.
If needed, Sanskrit teachers will be appointed in the state.
“Recruitment of Sanskrit teachers has been started in government schools,” Chouhan said. As many as 3,547 Sanskrit teachers have been appointed in government schools, he was quoted by the Hindustan Times. “The life of Lord Parshuram was included in the class's eighth book. We will not only teach Akbar but we will also teach Ram and Parshuram,” the chief minister said. “We will try to write history correctly.”
Chouhan said a 'Shri Parshuram Lok' would be built at Janapav near Indore, considered the birthplace of Lord Parshuram, while a building will be constructed on the premises of Gufa Mandir for devotees visiting the temple, PTI reported.
Visiting Janapav, some 45 kilometres from Indore, later, the CM said Rs 10 crore will be provided for the development of a 'dharamshala', garden, and other facilities for devotees.
“Lord Parshuram is known as the god of justice. He had raised the axe to destroy terrorists,” he said.
“Due to his inspiration, goons, miscreants and Naxalites will not be allowed on the land of Madhya Pradesh”, he added, according to HT.
