Bipin Rawat Helicopter Crash: In a tragic incident that took place earlier in the day, India's Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, and 11 others died in a military chopper crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu.
Both Bipin Rawat and his wife have been reported to have passed away in this incident.
There were 14 people on board this helicopter. Madhulika Rawat, wife of General Bipin Rawat, was the daughter of the royal family of Sohagpur in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh. Her father's name was Kunwar Mrigender Singh. After the incident came to light, her brother Yashvardhan Singh flew from Bhopal to Delhi.
Madhulika Rawat Was The Chairman Of AWWA
Bipin Rawat was elected Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of India on January 1, 2020. His family has been serving in the Indian Army for generations. His wife Madhulika Rawat was the president of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA). She has worked for the well-being of the wives, children and dependents of Army personnel.
Madhulika did her studies in Delhi and completed her graduation in psychology from Delhi University. She was also associated with several types of social work, especially for cancer victims.
Bipin Rawat's Family
Bipin and Madhulika Rawat are survived by two daughters. One of them is Kritika Rawat. Bipin Rawat's father Laxman Singh Rawat had also served in the Indian Army and had reached the post of Lieutenant-General. His mother was the daughter of Kishan Singh Parmar, an MLA from Uttarkashi.
