WATCH: PM Modi’s ‘Kadwa Karela’ Jibe At Congress In Maharashtra As He Accuses It Of Trying To 'Divide And Rule'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Congress source of all problems in the country during a public rally in Chandrapur, Maharashtra

New Delhi: While Addressing a public rally in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, saying, "Congress is the source of all problems in the country". Mocking the grand old party, the Prime Minister cited a Marathi saying to liken it to a 'Kadwa Karela' (bitter gourd). "Bitter gourd can never be sweet even if mixed with ghee or sugar. It also implies to Congress. They can never mend their ways Due to its misdeeds, today the Congress party has lost public support within the country, hence now the Congress has openly started the game of divide and rule", he remarked, as quoted by news agency ANI.

PM Modi again accused the Congress party manifesto of having a 'Muslim League imprint', saying, "The Congress party has lost the support of the people in the country due to their misdeeds. As a result, they are now resorting to a strategy of divide and rule. In their manifesto, they have used language reminiscent of the Muslim League. Additionally, one of their MPs is demanding the division of India."

PM Modi also tore into the grand old party over the Ram Temple issue, stating, "Who was responsible for the delay in construction of Ayodhya's Ram Temple? The leaders of which party questioned the existence of Lord Ram? Which party didn't attend the Ram Temple 'pran pratishtha' ceremony?"

In his address, PM Modi framed the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections as a choice between stability and instability for the nation.

PM Modi commended the town for its significant contributions to the construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya and the new Parliament building.

Ahead of Navratri, PM Modi wished citizens for the holy festival of Navratri starting from tomorrow.

General elections will be held in India from 19 April 2024 to 1 June 2024 to elect the 543 members of the 18th Lok Sabha.
