Calling it a blatant misuse of power, Venugopal stated, "It is not a coincidence that MOS (Home) Ajay Mishra’s son led this gruesome murder, as the minister himself threatened the peacefully protesting farmers with violence". The statement further demanded that Mishra should be immediately sacked from the post and those responsible for this incident be arrested.

Saying that it was shameful that the Prime Minister & Home Minister have remained silent over the gruesome murder, he said, "The absolute silence from the ruling dispensation has made the ‘jungle raj’ thrive in UP and other BJP ruled states of the country".

In the statement, he said that the Yogi government did everything to stop AICC General Secretary In-Charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra from meeting the bereaved families while the murderers are out scot-free. He further stated, "In many states where the BJP governments is in power, senior Congress leaders out on the streets to protest against this brutal massacre of farmers and police raj, were arrested."

The Congress workers, leaders and other party members is going to hold massive demonstrations at the state and district levels across the country tomorrow and the day after in protest and to register their objections to the ways and means of the Yogi led BJP Government in UP and the Modi Government at the Center.
