Indian-Origin Man Arrested On Charges Of Drug Peddling In New Zealand: Report

Auckland Police busted a drug peddling racket, and investigation led to the man with links to Punjab.

An Indian-origin person was arrested on charges of drug peddling in New Zealand, with the Auckland Police busting a racket, news agency ANI reported. 

According to the report, which quoted the local media, the police said the Auckland City’s Organised Crime Unit had been investigating a shipment of kombucha bottles among pallets of drug-laced beer cans, that resulted in a search warrant executed in Ryan Place, Manukau, in early March.

The police said officers had identified 328 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed in beer cans.

As per the report, the accused has links to Punjab and is known a fundraiser for anti-India and pro-Khalistan movements organised in New Zealand. He is currently in jail and is standing trial on drug peddling charges.
