Stating that the accused had fled from the spot after the riots, sources said that he had been changing his locations since then and moving across West Bengal.
Sources further said that the accused has six cases, including that of robbery, snatching, burglary and under the Arms Act, registered against him since 2010, adding he is a history-sheeter in the Jahangirpuri area.
Earlier on April 16, clashes broke out between two communities during a Hanuman Jayanti procession in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri.
At least eight police personnel and a local resident were among those injured.
There was stone pelting and arson, as per the police, during the clashes and some vehicles were also torched.
Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana had days after the violence written to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to probe the money laundering charges against the prime accused in the case.
The police have also slapped the stern National Security Act against five of the accused in this case.
