Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLC K Kavitha has asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to clear his stand over the recent controversial remark of DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran's statement that Hindi speakers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh (UP) who migrate to Tamil Nadu engage in menial jobs such as construction work and cleaning toilets. She referred to previous such remarks of the DMK leaders -- Udhayanidhi Staln's comments on Sanatan Dharma and Senthilkumar's reference to Hindi heartland states -- said Rahul Gandhi should make it clear he is "not anti-Hindu, anti-poor and anti-labour".
"It is not about one particular party's views, it is about how these kinds of statements are going to disturb the fabric of our nation and which alliance is this particular party a part of. It is a part of the INDIA alliance which is led by Rahul Gandhi's Congress. Rahul Gandhi continuously keeps making a lot of statements about Bharat Jodo Yatra where he is constantly trying to unite the nation. Now, it looks like a PR stunt because he should have stood up, spoken when comments were made on 'Sanatana Dharma', hurting Hindu sentiments," she said.

She said her father and former Telangana CM KCR always called migrants "partners in progress", and added that Rahul Gandhi's party is in alliance with DMK in I.N.D.I.A bloc and hence he should now open up about the comments made by DMK leaders.
BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala shared the clip of Dayanidhi Maran's comments and said, "Once again, DMK leader Dayanidhi Maran attempted to trigger the north-south debate."
"Will Nitish Kumar, Tejaswi Yadav, Lalu Yadav, Congress, SP Akhilesh Yadav all pretend that this isn’t happening? When will they take a stand?" Poonawala posted on X.
