Karnataka: Six Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested With Fake IDs In Chitradurga

The six Bangladeshi nationals reportedly infiltrated through West Bengal and later acquired counterfeit Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, PAN cards, and a passport in Kolkata.

Six Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended during a police patrol in the Dhavalagiri Layout area of Chitradurga city, Karnataka, on November 18. The individuals were intercepted near Aravind Garments and White Wash Garments on Holalkere Road.

According to a press release by the police, interrogation and document verification revealed that the detainees had entered India illegally several years ago. They reportedly infiltrated through West Bengal and later acquired counterfeit Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, PAN cards, and a passport in Kolkata. These documents were used to secure employment in various states.

The individuals had recently arrived in Chitradurga for work, where they were discovered by patrolling officers. All the fake documents found in their possession have been confiscated, and legal proceedings are being initiated against them.

The arrested include Sanwar Hossain, Sheikh Saipur Rohman, Azizul Shaikh, Mohammad Suman Hussain Ali, Mazarul and Muhammad Saqib Sikdar.

This incident comes just a month after a similar case in Udupi district, where eight Bangladeshi nationals were found residing illegally for three years. One of them, Mohammed Maniq, attempted to flee to Dubai from Mangaluru airport using a fake passport. Immigration officials flagged the document and handed him over to the Bajpe police in Dakshina Kannada district.

Subsequent investigations revealed that the other seven individuals in Udupi had also procured fake Aadhaar cards. A case was registered at the Bajpe police station, and further action was taken.

Last week, Enforcement Directorate arrested a man for reportedly facilitating illegal infiltration in India.
