Jyotiraditya Scindia & Mother Madhavi Raje Scindia Test Positive For Covid-19, Admitted To Max Hospital In Delhi
Earlier in the day, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also took the swab test after having symptoms of Covid-19.
New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata party leader Jyotiraditya Scindia along with his mother Madhavi Raje Scindia, has tested positive for Covid-19. Both of them have been admitted to Max Hospital in South Delhi’s Saket. Also Read: Delhi CM Kejriwal Undergoes Coronavirus Test, Result Likely Within 24-48 Hrs
Reports have it that Scindia has been admitted to Max Hospital since last 4 days after he showed symptoms of the disease including fever and throat infection. However, his mother Madhavi Raje Scindia remains asymptomatic.
Several political figures have contracted the infection, while the confirmed cases count continues to rise sharply in the country.
Earlier in the day, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal took the Covid-19 test after he showed symptoms of the disease since last three days. The test’s result is likely to be declared within 48 hours.
Before Scindia, BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra also showed symptoms of Coronavirus. He was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon.
India, on Tuesday, witnessed a record surge in its Coronavirus cases with 9987 fresh cases and 331 deaths in last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases now at 2,66,598.
In the month of March, when India was witnessing initial emergence of Coronavirus, Scindia switched allegiance to the saffron party from the Congress, and along with him 22 MLAs also quit the grand old party, pushing Kamal Nath government into weeks-long crisis and finally losing power to be replaced by Shivraj government.
