J&K: Soldier commits suicide on LoC

He shot himself with his service rifle on Monday evening.

Jammu: In a tragic incident, an Indian soldier committed suicide while on duty on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Tuesday. Ranbir Singh was on duty at an army garrison in Khour area of Akhnoor sector. He shot himself with his service rifle on Monday evening. The reason behind the suicide is yet to be known. The cops are now investigating the matter and are trying to find the cause behind the major step soldier took. His body has been handed over to his unit. More details on the same are awaited.
