J&K: Terrorists escape after brief shootout in Shopian; search underway

The militants fired at the security forces in Laddi Imamsahab area after which there was a brief exchange of gunfire. When the militants escaped, forces intensified searched to nab them.

New Delhi: In the clashes between security forces and terrorists in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, two to three militants succeeded in escaping because of stone-pelting. Security forces launched a search operation following a brief gunfight with the militants. One civilian has reportedly been injured in the area. The militants fired at the security forces in Laddi Imamsahab area after which there was a brief exchange of gunfire. When the militants escaped, forces intensified searched to nab them. "Searches are ongoing in the area to trace the militants," the police said. Authorities have suspended mobile internet services in the district.
