Jammu And Kashmir: 4 Terrorists Gunned Down In Two Separate Encounters In Pulwama In Last 24 Hours

In yet another gun battle, security forces have eliminated four terrorist in two separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama in last 24 hours. The Kashmir Zone police officials reportedly said that the two terrorists were killed by the security forces in Hakaripora area of Pulwama. ALSO READ | J&K: One Terrorist Gunned Down By Security Forces During Encounter In Shopian; Search Operation Still Underway News agency ANI quoted the Kashmir Zone Police saying, "one unidentified terrorist killed in an ongoing encounter at Hakripora (Kakapora) area of Pulwama. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow." The officials later added that one more terrorist was killed in the encounter at Pulwama. This was the second encounter in past 24 hours. Earlier on Monday, the security forces had launched a search operation after receiving specific information about the presence of militants in the Shopian district of South Kashmir. According to an IANS report, the encounter began after security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation which was based on a tip-off about the presence of two or three terrorists in the area. During the search operation in Melhura, Zenapora in Shopian, the terrorists tried to flee but soldiers surrounded them. The ambushed militants also fired indiscriminately. Jammu and Kashmir Police Inspector Mohammad Ashraf was martyred during the firing and was killed on the spot. According to the media reports, the encounter between terrorists and security forces got underway after the area was cordoned off and a search operation was started by the security forces on the basis of specific intelligence information about the presence of terrorists in the area.
