Jagdeep Dhankar Meets Amit Shah, Says, 'Democracy Being Killed In Bengal, Al-Qaeda Spreading Its Fangs'

New Delhi: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar met Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi today to discuss the situation of the state. After the meeting,  Governor Dhankhar alleged that the police in the state have been “politicised” to the extent that the force now interferes with every aspect of governance. The governor said, "What do we have in West Bengal? Al-Qaeda, spreading its fangs, people being arrested. We have illegal bomb-making factory and bombs are freely flying in every event, being carried in an ambulance. What are these people doing?" Jagdeep Dhankar also slammed the administrative officers after political murders in the state and said "I could never imagine that there could be such abdication of authority by senior members of IAS and IPS. We have a state security advisor who is a retired DGP, what does he do? Is he is there out to carry out political acts?"

'Democracy is being murdered in West Bengal': Jagdeep Dhankar

Jagdeep Dhankar also said that he has written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding interference in the political situation of the state as 'democracy is being murdered in West Bengal'. The governor also attacked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said that she has turned the police officers into her party campaigners and he wants the SC to intervene so fair elections could be conducted in the state and not influenced by the ruling government. Jagdeep Dhankar said that his only motive is to save democracy and restore the law and order in the state which has been disturbed by some parties and their leaders.
