BJP national president J P Nadda on Saturday called Congress leader Rahul Gandhi "mentally bankrupt". Nadda stated that Rahul Gandhi does not know how to run for office. Is democracy in danger just because people did not vote for his party? Gandhi, according to Nadda, has offended 135 crore Indians and must apologise, news agency ANI reported.

Nadda further stated that, while his party, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was focusing on the all-round and inclusive development of the country, the Congress was still promoting dynastic politics via the repackaging of its leader, Rahul Gandhi.
Speaking at a public meeting as part of the BJP's 'Vijaya Sankalpa Yatre' ahead of the May Assembly elections in Karnataka, he claimed that Rahul Gandhi, unable to win elections, is claiming that democracy in India is under threat on foreign land.
"Before 2014 (before the Modi government), India was plagued with corruption. There were frauds such as 2G, 3G, and commonwealth, among others, but today the country is among the world's leading nations," Nadda was quoted as saying by PTI.
The BJP president remarked at a public meeting in Karnataka's Chikkanayakahalli that Modi has changed the country's political culture, moving it away from the Congress' corruption, commission, criminalization, and dynastic rule. He has done it by giving a push to development, with a concentration on "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and now Sabka Prayas".
"Even now, the Congress is pushing dynastic politics; whether he is successful or not, his repackaging after repackaging is ongoing. They are still primarily concerned with promoting family politics," he said that most BJP leaders, including Modi and Yediyurappa, come from very ordinary families and are self-made.
Nadda stated that when the Congress was wiped out in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand, Tripura, Nagaland, and Manipur, Rahul Gandhi went to England and declared that India's democracy was under threat.
"They reject you in elections by defeating you, and you say democracy is under threat," he said. "One who cannot contest elections says democracy is under danger," he added.
Further accusing Rahul Gandhi of inciting America and Europe against India, the BJP president stated that he is threatening India's sovereignty and insulting the people of the country.
"Rahul Gandhi has to apologise to the people of the county...Congress and its leaders have gone mentally bankrupt and should be sent home," he added.
