J&K: LeT Terror Module Tasked To Carry Out Attacks On Civilians Busted, Two Militants Arrested
The module was told to launch large-scale attacks on citizens and security forces in order to instil fear among the general public. The busted terrorist module was being handled from PoK.
In a major breakthrough against the terrorist infrastructure in North Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police along with security forces on Tuesday busted the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist module by arresting two active terrorists and their two important associates including a woman in Bandipora.
"In a major breakthrough against the terrorist infrastructure in North Kashmir, police along with security forces busted LeT terrorist module by arresting two active terrorists and their two important associates including a woman associate in Bandipora," a police spokesman was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
During a cordon and search operation undertaken at Gundbal Nursery by Bandipora Police, 13 Rashtriya Rifles (13RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) apprehended two active terrorists affiliated with the proscribed terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The terrorists have been identified as Musaib Mir alias Moya resident of Rakh Hajin and Arafat Farooq Wagey alias Dr Adil resident of Gulshnabad Hajin, the spokesperson said.
Incriminating materials, a huge cache of arms and ammunition, and materials for making (improvised explosive devices) IEDs were confiscated from their possession.

The recoveries included one AK-47 rifle, one AK-56 rifle, four AK series magazines, live rounds, RDX powder, nails, ball bearings, batteries, detonators, an IED mechanism circuit, remote control, loose wire, and iron pipes.
The combined team also detained two key terror associates, Imran Majeed Mir alias Jaffar Bhaie, a resident of Wangipora Sumbal, and Suraya Rashid Wani alias Senty alias Tabish, a resident of Wahab Parray Mohalla Hajin, along with two hand grenades and incriminating materials.
"Preliminary investigation revealed that the busted terrorist module was being handled by LeT terrorist commander Samama alias Babar from PoK. The module was directed to carry out substantial attacks on civilians and security forces to instil fear in the minds of the general public," the spokesman said, as reported by PTI.
The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Kashmir commended the joint forces for busting the terror module and preventing a major tragedy. He also called it a huge success in demolishing North Kashmir's terror infrastructure.
