J&K: Indian Army Evacuates 80 Yrs Old Woman With Severe Fever & Arthritis Amid Heavy Svowfall
During the early morning hours today, the Indian Army's Chinar Corps personnel evacuated an unwell old lady to the Boniyar Primary Health Care (PHC) Centre.
In the midst of hard winters, icy roads, and limited road connection, communities near the LOC would have faced considerable obstacles in transporting unwell elderly people if the Indian Army had not acted quickly in solidarity with the residents.
During the early morning hours today, the Indian Army's Chinar Corps personnel evacuated an unwell old lady, Sardar Beewa w/o Mir Mohd, from Jabri village, Boniyar Tehsil, Baramulla district, to the Boniyar Primary Health Care (PHC) Centre.
In the early hours of January 20, an Indian Army unit at Paro proactively responded to a distress call from Mir Mohd, a resident of the remote Jabri hamlet, who frantically wanted the evacuation of his 80-year-old wife, who was suffering from acute fever, vomiting, and stomach discomfort.
Jabri Village is situated on a steep incline, making evacuation under heavy snowfall exceedingly difficult. The courageous and unselfish Chinar Corps fighters, on the other hand, went through knee-deep snow to the ill lady's home. Due to the hilly nature of the trails, steep gradient involved, and thick snowfall conditions, the selfless Warriors carried the elderly lady on their backs to minimise damage to the patient.
When the lady arrived in Paro, she was quickly transferred to a waiting Army ambulance, and the patient was successfully evacuated to PHC, Boniyar.
The local people applauded the Indian Army's Paro detachment's prompt response and complimented their valiant and compassionate actions on behalf of the local populace.
Earlier this month, the Indian Army forces, in a nightlong operation, evacuated a pregnant woman from snow-covered Tangdhar in the Kupwara area of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to an official, the lady was taken to a sub-district hospital in Tangdhar on Saturday evening but subsequently developed significant problems, necessitating her transfer to mainland Kupwara for specialised care.
According to an official statement, the staff then prepared for a helicopter to transport the lady to mainland Kupwara under the supervision of its Deputy Commissioner, Sagar.
