J&K: 10% Reservation For Agniveers In Police, Announces LG Manoj Sinha

On Sunday's 16th edition of "Awaam Ki Awaaz," Sinha stated his choice was influenced by an idea put up by Sankarshan Sharma and Akarshit Sharma, two young people from Jammu.

In the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has announced a 10% reservation for agniveers, news agency PTI reported. On Sunday's 16th edition of "Awaam Ki Awaaz," Sinha stated his choice was influenced by an idea put up by Sankarshan Sharma and Akarshit Sharma, two young people from Jammu.

"Sankarshan and Akarshit, I want to thank you for your suggestion. I want to tell you that we will implement the 10 per cent reservation for Agniveers with immediate effect," the LG was quoted by PTI in its report.

Sinha gave orders to top police officials, district administrators, and representatives of Mission Youth to ensure that all young people participating in training programmes for the four-year Agniveer military recruiting plan had access to the resources they need.

Manoj Sinha, the LG of J&K, dedicated the 16th edition of the 'Awaam Ki Awaaz' programme to those who labour for the welfare of society and nation building, PTI reported.

The focus topics of this month's episode of the Awaam ki Awaaz programme included Jan Bhagidari, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Good Governance, Police-Public Cooperation, Reviving Heritage, and Women Entrepreneurs. It was broadcast on DD Kashmir as well as all local and primary channels of All India Radio (AIR) in the Union territory on Sunday.

“Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav provides the perfect opportunity for new dreams, new resolve to bring about peace, prosperity and all-round progress in the country. As the cradle of civilization, we are determined to further enhance the country’s position at the world stage," Sinha said. 

He also praised the district administration for encouraging public engagement in government operations among the populace. LG Manoj Sinha also praised the staff of the Power Development Department, PWD, Jal Shakti, and all disaster management officials for overcoming the recent inclement weather and ensuring round-the-clock services and operations.

The lieutenant governor said that J&K has emerged as the top performer in the ranking of UTs for dynamic change in the ecosystem of startups.

He encouraged the government's efforts to promote entrepreneurship and harness the demographic dividends. We are concentrating on creating the startup ecosystem in the districts under the new industrial policy, he continued.

Sinha also paid tribute to all those who perished in the July 8 flash flood at the Amarnath Cave sanctuary, which claimed the lives of 15 pilgrims.
