Injured militant apprehended, another's body found in Anantnag
Police sources, however, said there was a dispute between the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and the Ansar Ghazwatul Hind about Adil Ahmad deciding to join the later outfit.
Srinagar: Security forces have found the body of a militant and apprehended another in an injured condition in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district, police said on Thursday. The body of Adil Ahmad was recovered from Sirhama village of Bijbehara area on Wednesday evening. The other militant, Arif Bhat, was apprehended, police said.
There has been no word about the militant's killing or injury to another in any operation by the security forces.
Police sources, however, said there was a dispute between the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and the Ansar Ghazwatul Hind about Adil Ahmad deciding to join the later outfit.
"Reports indicate that LeT wanted him to return the weapon that had been given to him by the outfit. The shootout resulting in his death and injury to Bhat looks like the result of this gang rivalry," THE sources said.
An official word is awaited about the details of the incident, although the killing of Adil and injury to Arif in any operation by the security forces is presently ruled out.
