New Delhi: At least seven people were charred to death on Saturday morning after a fire broke out in a two-storey building in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. Nine have been rescued so far, Indore Police Commissioner Harinarayana Chari Mishra told news agency ANI. The incident took place in Indore’s Swarna Bhag colony, the police said.

As per the ANI report, further investigation is underway in the case.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan also expressed his condolences to the victims.

“The sad news of the untimely demise of many precious lives was received in the accident due to a short circuit in Swarn Bagh Colony of Indore.
